Advanced Guide to Product Manager’s Role in Agile Environment

Functions, Tools, and Techniques

PURPOSE

We define a product manager as the role that is responsible for maximizing return on investment in products or services for customers and company. As the main focus of a business is to create and capture value through the products or services it offers, the product manager (or ProductOwner) function is key to driving success.

This program is aimed to equip individuals who work as PMs or support any of the PMs functions with thorough understanding of the responsibilities and essential tools and techniques for fulfilling those.

TARGET AUDIENCE

  • ProductOwners
  • Product Managers
  • Agile facilitators
  • ScrumMasters
  • Team leaders

FORMAT

This program is designed to maximize practical learning from the sessions by combining several elements:

  • Onsite training – every 2 weeks we meet for a half-day session where we discuss theoretical input on a particular topic. Training takes place on Friday to allow participants time for personal development after the busy schedule during the week. The training includes:
  • Group exercises – as part of our live sessions, we engage with the group in interactive exercises, such as case study discussions, role plays, games, etc.
  • Virtual follow-up sessions – at the end of each session participants leave with a personal goal that they want to achieve within the next 2 weeks – for example, read a particular book or article, or apply some of the learning in their job. Before our next session, we meet in a virtual 1-hour call to wrap up the findings and discuss further questions and experiences.

The group contains 6-15 people.

Total time investment per module: 5 h + individual work on personal goals
